American Tailors was established in 1950, at a time when all things American were seen as modern, forward thinking and strong. In the 50's and 60's if you lived in Melbourne and needed a suit, chances were you came to American Tailors for it. Our reputation was widespread, and there was a sizeable staff of tailors busily working away to produce beautiful clothing.

These days, our staff is smaller, but our reputation for quality, craftsmanship and knowledge of the mechanics of well-fitted clothing still brings customers from all over the world through our doors. In 1999, Sebastian Giacobello, and Tony Ranieri took responsibility for American Tailors, and have reinvigorated the stock and the premises, with new ranges sourced from Europe, and on-site tailors to provide bespoke tailoring and alterations. American Tailors still stands for forward thinking quality and attention to detail.
